Well, the sun is finally back out and things have been zipping along on the exteriors of the units. Stucco is almost complete on the north unit and work is starting on the south unit. It is really making it feel complete! The fence is going up as the panels are completed and the ground is getting ready for paving. We are using the good weather window to get the exterior work done before winter. The show home is still available to view, so feel free to contact us about a first or second look. Interest in units have been increasing since the Open House, so be sure to let us know if you want another look, or have further questions for us.
What an amazing weekend! Despite the weather, and the less-than-lovely exterior, It was fantastic to see so much interest and support from the community. With over 100 people coming through the show-home, it made for a mighty busy couple of days for those of us at the site! With lots of interest,it was great to be able to share the workmanship and designs with people, and have them walk through. The common themes were definitely “There is so much light!”, “I love the island and the cupboard space”, “Way more space than I thought” and “Maybe I will have just one more cookie/tart”. If you came through and are wanting a more relaxed atmosphere to walk through the space again, we can certainly make that happen. We do ask that you make an appointment though by calling Scott at 403-632-9141, since there is still construction going on around the site over the coming weeks, and we want to ensure your safety when you come on site. If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to contact u
Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for the hard work of all our contractors, who are working hard to get everything in place for the Open House on the weekend. We have posted a few more photos, so you can get a small taste of what the interiors are starting to look like. For a finished viewing, come check out our Open House. Event details will be posted on cornerstoneplace.ca, or follow us, and the event, on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/events/261640174488871/

What a busy couple of months on site! If you have driven past recently, you have seen the work that has been done! While the site has not been very photogenic, lots has been going on! Everyone is working hard to get as much done as possible before the snow sets in. Move-in to the first units are scheduled the end of October/ early November. Utilities, water, sewer and gas are in place and ready to be hooked up in each unit. The North unit is being prepped for the stucco exterior, while inside, trades are working hard to get the interiors finished. Our first two units are getting final coats of paint, flooring, tiling, cabinets and countertops. Outside, the concrete fence, privacy fence between units, patios, and paving is happening for the whole project. Things are really coming together after a summer of heat and hardwork.
Things are chugging along nicely at Cornerstone Place. Driving by, or looking at the photos you will see that the roof is completed on the North building, and, weather dependant, shingles should be going on soon. The concrete pads in the crawl spaces on the south building have all been poured, the floor joints are in place, and the subfloor installed. What you can’t see is even better! Framing on the first units is happening, with one unit 90% complete! Check back for a video walk-through of one of the framed units.
Walls are up and trusses are in the air! With all the work last week and this, including closing in the front of the building, and getting the roof trusses in place, the site is really starting to look like homes! Each unit has beautiful vaulted ceilings to keep that large, open feeling. Units are 25% sold and the early purchasers can still make changes to the layouts.
What a month it has been. If you have not driven past the site recently you should. Slabs in the crawl spaces are done on the North building and are soon to be done on the South building. Subfloor is down, and walls on the North building are going up. You can see the ICF block between the units and along the creek and road, to keep noise to a minimum. Huge thanks to the guys working in the wind and rain we have these last couple of weeks! Not the best conditions to to be working outside, but they have been working hard to keep the timelines on track.
Speaking of timelines, if you are even considering wanting to have customization on your interior layout the time is now to contact Scott and buy-in to the project. Once the walls and roof are up on the North building we will be starting the interiors while working on the exterior of the South building.
Please keep checking back for more updates as things progress, and watch for a date for a walk-through of the property and a unit later this summer.
The North building is well on its way, with the floor support systems having been installed this week. The South building has the foundation dug, and the footings in place! Hopefully the forecasted rain is short lived and we will be able to get the concrete floor in the North building’s crawl space poured along with the foundation for the South building. The next stage: installing the infrastructure for utilities. We are working hard with local providers to ensure that cable, internet, and phone connections will be as seamless as possible for the new homeowners, no matter who their provider is.
Cornerstone Place in Pincher Creek is officially in construction mode. After the long winter months of waiting and planning, it felt pretty great to have Mayor Don Anderberg with us to officially put the first shovels to dirt on April 23. He joined Kathy Szakacs, who is representing the developer, Mike Mayer of Mike Mayer Construction, and Scott Korbett Project Manager, on a beautiful April day. Meanwhile, behind the bit of pomp and circumstance, the team was unloading and getting the big shovels ready to start digging the foundations on the North building. With the warm weather and ground drying up we were finally able to break ground on these new townhomes in Pincher Creek. By the end of that week the footings were in place and the Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) blocks, by local manufacturer Superform, were ready for the concrete to be poured. This occured over the last week and the new foundations have been backfilled.
If you wander past, you can now see the start of Cornerstone taking shape. If you are too far away, check out the photos below.
